From there to say that Ain and Rhône are close cousins, there is only a fathom. To cross, by coming to stroll on the trails of the Ain-Rhône confluence, leaving from the village of Blyes.

For swimming, it's elsewhere that it happens. The Ain River is complex. The reasons ? Hydroelectric dams upstream, protected areas and few developed banks. Only a few bathing places are tolerated. To do this, you will need to refer to:

blue lake

Lac bleu en été

This is a real natural curiosity ! A dream name for a modest but remarkable body of colored water turquoise ou emerald.

To what do we owe this phenomenon? Hard to say. Copper deposit from an old factory, algae or spell... No one knows. The main thing is that Magic operates.

Located on the heights of Ambérieu-en-Bugey, the Blue Lake walk exists in several versions. It is even possible to come by train from Lyon.

Same here, bathing et nautical activities are prohibited. Picnic tables allow you to enjoy the area in complete peace and quiet.

The Luizet waterfall

Let's stay cool, head to the heart of Bugey. With a path of easy ride from the hamlet of Onglas, to the waterfall of 60m high.

chute d'eau à Luizet

Here again, the swimming is prohibited, to protect nature. Foot dipping is tolerated. The best season to enjoy it? Autumn ou spring for a more beautiful waterfall.

A village built around a vanished orchard, or another spell. Here too, the enchantment is there with a panorama impregnable on all the hills of Bugey.

The trees of Sully, two unusual natural sites

Here too the natural heritage summons History. It happens at Innimond et Ordonnaz, in the Ain mountains, in the heart of Bugey. Both Sully trees, named after Henry IV's minister, exceed the venerable age of 400 years ! Planted at the foot of their respective churches, they recall the attachment of Bugey to the kingdom of France in 1601.
