This beautiful church, whose existence dates back to the 11th century, was enlarged in 1794, the year its bell tower collapsed, delivering the bells to the cannon foundry. Deemed too small, it was transformed in the 19th century, from which it draws its classical style.
It remained without a bell tower for a long time, until 1826, causing significant collapses that same year.
A reconstruction following subscriptions will take place from 1827.
The original stained glass windows were replaced in 1879, providing lovely coloured light inside the building.
The choir's murals, depicting the Last Supper and the multiplication of the loaves, created in 1846, were covered during the restoration of the place in 1979; they are no longer visible today.
Two paintings are placed in the choir: Saint Mary Magdalene, the Virgin and Child (17th century) and the Adoration of the Magi and St Clair (17th century).
From the aisles to the chapels, you will discover statues with protective virtues: Saint Sebastian in gilded wood from the 17th century or pretty cherubs from the 18th century.
In the heart of a beautiful village, the church surprises with all the little treasures it contains. It remains a must-see place with the chapel of Nièvre which contemplates it from the heights.
