A rather easy route, pleasant to do as a family with children accustomed to walking. It is possible to simply visit the Luizet waterfall in a round trip from the hamlet of Onglas (1h30). The Tréfond tour allows you to cross the beautiful wild river and enjoy the beautiful landscapes.

Getting to the starting point

Onglas - Waterfall car park (45')

Leave the car park on the left and take the path on the right that goes to the Luizet waterfall. NB: If you want a simple round trip to the waterfall, it takes 1h30 there and back.

At the fork

At a fork, turn right to go to the Luizet waterfall

Waterfall - D32 (45')

From the waterfall leave by the path taken. At the fork seen on the outward journey, after about 2.5km take a path at an acute angle to the right (on the left facing the fork). Continue on this path, then a path until you cross the Tréfond river and cross it. Go up on the D32.

D32 - East Onglas (1h)

Take the D32 downhill, then at the 1st crossroads go up on the right (D99a), direction Souclin. Then take the first left on the path going down to Bénonces (south). Continue straight on opposite the Golet du Mur then always the furthest to the right until you come into view of the village

Cross the village passing in front of the church, go down the ascent of the cure to a cross. Turn right to pass in front of the Chassard farm, cross a bridge over the stream and come to the rue des vignes. Continue towards Seillonnaz as far as the exit sign for the hamlet of Onglas. Go back up to the parking lot.

The waterfall is at its best in spring and fall. The perfect time to capture its waves.

For the more athletic, the hike can be done from the Rhône (in Serrières-de-Briord) for an ascent to the waterfall before going around Tréfond and back (6h30)
