Getting to the starting point

Serrières - Huntsmen's Hut (45')

Take Canal Street. At the first intersection, turn right, cross the river then take the first path on the left which passes in front of the Bugiste oven. Follow the path through the boxwood. At the top of the hill, take an uncovered left. You pass in front of an old quarry and you reach through the boxwood the paved road which comes from Montagnieu next to the "cabane des chasseurs".

Hut - Seillonnaz (1h15')

Take the paved road to the left, cross the Chépieu plateau in the pastures to a new quarry in a wooded area. Go straight through the woods and along the mountainside. > Views of the Pernaz valley, the Roche de Cuny (cross), the villages of Bénonces and the hamlet of Onglas. We pass under the Grotte de Souhait (on the right, fence). 30 minutes later, the path leads to a paved road. Follow it to the right until Seilllonnaz.

Seillonnaz - Viewpoint Les Chaux (1h) - Montagnieu (45')

As soon as you enter the village, turn right, near the fountain, onto a wide forest path that climbs into the Bois de Souhait. > Beautiful views of the Monts du Bugey, the village of Crept, and in good weather the massifs of Vercors, Chartreuse and Belledonne. Arriving on the plateau, walk along the clearings then the path arrives at "Les Chaux". Point of view indicated on the ground. CAUTION: absolute caution on the cliff, significant drop. Then descend the path, steep and narrow but picturesque to Montagnieu.

Montagnieu - Serrieres (45')

Opposite the Archirel restaurant, take a path that crosses the D79 and ends in the Place des Granges. Turn right towards Serrières, then left at the butcher's. Continue towards the Rhône. Turn right twice to reach Serrières via the plain.
