At the roundabout when arriving at the lake: either go around the lake to the right (shaded parking space just after the first restaurant and the Total service station), or to the left then take an immediate right (parking possible near the lake, or large car park at the end of the lake).

Late afternoon in the pleasant Bugey massif. A paradise of bends and small narrow roads. It's a little chaotic at times, but the scenery is worth it. From Belley, reach the pretty hamlet of Ordonnaz. A short stop at the village cheese shop to buy some good cheese. Or if you prefer old stones, the church and its multi-hundred-year-old Sully tree await you. Direction Souclin, by the splendid winding and cool roads of the Col de Portes. Another essential stop (viewpoint indicator 400m from the road) for the view as far as the Cévènnes on a clear day.
Return via the Lagnieu roundabout. If you feel like it, it is possible to take the road to Vaux-en-Bugey, to prolong the pleasure of the day!
