After a morning through the country of Cerdon, picnic at the edge of Lake Nantua which is approximately halfway.

Crossing the Valserine valley and its pretty river. For an arrival in Aix-les-Bains and its grandiose Lac du Bourget.

After a small dip, go around the lake for the pleasure of the Col du Chat road. By the tunnel, or the small roads for the more adventurous.

Late afternoon in the pleasant Bugey massif. A paradise of bends and small narrow roads. It's a little chaotic at times, but the scenery is worth it. From Belley, reach the pretty hamlet of Ordonnaz. A short stop at the village cheese shop to buy some good cheese. Or if you prefer old stones, the church and its multi-hundred-year-old Sully tree await you. Direction Souclin, by the splendid winding and cool roads of the Col de Portes. Another essential stop (viewpoint indicator 400m from the road) for the view as far as the Cévènnes on a clear day.

Return via the Lagnieu roundabout. If you feel like it, it is possible to take the road to Vaux-en-Bugey, to prolong the pleasure of the day!

Welcome back to Lyon via the national road towards Meximieux, or the A42 motorway from Ambérieu-en-Bugey.
