AMAP

This association makes it possible to establish a direct link between farmers and consumers, who support local producers by committing to buy organic production in advance and at a fair price.

The association does not take any percentage of producers' products, only an annual membership fee is collected. AMAP currently brings together around fifty members spread over a 15 km radius around Meximieux, and 17 producers (goat cheeses, breads/delicacies, vegetables, beef and pork, eggs, apples, honey , oils, fruit juices, wines, cider, Cerdon, pasta, aromatic and medicinal plants, beer).

Each week, the members take turns to prepare the different baskets of vegetables that everyone comes to collect.

The investment of “amapiens” in producers is not only financial. They are more than just consumers. Indeed, "farm and crop discovery" days are organized and weekly contact during the distribution of baskets also makes it possible to discuss crop choices, farming methods, but also to share recipes on often varied seasonal vegetables.

Everything is supervised by AMAP AURA, which brings together the AMAPs of the Region. Producers meet specific criteria guaranteeing consumers the quality of production.
