The waterfall is accessible on foot (about 45 minutes walk).
From the Onglas car park: follow the signs for the Luizet waterfall. Return by the same route. Allow 1 hours for the round trip.
The path is very hilly and can be muddy depending on the weather and the season, good footwear is a necessity.

The Luizet waterfall is one of the beautiful surprises of the Pernaz river, labeled ENS (sensitive natural spaces) by the Ain department in 2015.

True natural and landscaped jewels of the Ain department, the sites benefiting from this designation are managed in such a way as to preserve the biodiversity they host and are designed for opening to the public (except in exceptional circumstances due to the fragility of the environments).

This well-preserved river, whose karst geology* forms numerous waterfalls and creates very fragile tufa habitats, has also been labeled a "wild river" since January 2020.

*sedimentary rocks sensitive to dissolution, mainly limestones.
