Located at Mas Constantin, a tank belonging to the Hospice was sold at auction to the town of Meximieux in 1869 for the sum of 850 F. At that time Meximieux did not have any. It was becoming a matter of public utility!
Built in 1875, on the left bank of the Bouvagne, its source is the Carlet spillway. Formerly covered, this washhouse also served as a meeting place. The women talked a lot there. The children took the washing machine on a wheelbarrow to help their mother.
