From Perouges to Bugey

Viewpoint: Château de Vertrieu on the Viarhôna

Pet Friendly

Reduced mobility adaptation

A point of view without vertigo from the bank on the beautiful castle of Vertrieu, to see during the pleasant stroll along the banks of the Rhône on the Viarhôna cycle route. A picnic area just opposite makes it even easier to take the time to admire it.

This panorama is revealed during the walk along the greenways, by the old tram path, starting from the wooded park of Lagnieu. Small detour recommended by the beautiful village of Saint-Sorlin-en-Bugey to admire its half-timbered facades, its medieval fresco, its church... The tasting cellar of the village awaits you to discover the wines of Bugey.

The viewpoint is at the level of the picnic area in front of the castle.
Or, take the ViaRhôna at the dedicated car park 50m after the roundabout on the route du port, direction St-Sorlin-en-Bugey.
