Where to swim near the festival?

So, good question. There Ain river passes right next to the village of St-Maurice-de-Rémens. Which makes you really want to go and dip your toes in it.

However, this river is fragile. It is a place of biodiversity for many animal or plant species, and as such the banks are preserved. It is also under the responsibility of EDF, which uses it to generate hydroelectricity, and as such sometimes practices water releases. This makes swimming dangerous. Finally, 'wild' parking on the banks of the river can hinder residents and traffic (emergency vehicles, etc.)

BUT as you are eco-friendly festival-goers, here are the bathing points tolerated where to splash around. We rely on you to be beyond reproach (waste collection, quiet…) Map of bathing spots in the Ain

The closest beach to the castle of St Maurice de Rémens is the Gevrieux beach which includes parking, easy access and public toilets nearby.
