So, good question. There Ain river passes right next to the village of St-Maurice-de-Rémens. Which makes you really want to go and dip your toes in it.

However, this river is fragile. It is a place of biodiversity for many animal or plant species, and as such the banks are preserved. It is also under the responsibility of EDF, which uses it to generate hydroelectricity, and as such sometimes practices water releases. This makes swimming dangerous.
