Chambod Island is clear water between the mountains, an island of 20 hectares with a breathtaking landscape, activities for everyone.
On the program: natural swimming in the Gorges de l'Ain, between the mountains, and gourmet break(s) on the terrace!
It is also a navigable body of water over 15 km, a beach equipped for supervised swimming, pontoons for water sports (windsurfing, canoeing, pedal boating, paddle...) or departures for walks or of hikes.
The Ain River divides into two arms around a stretch of land called Ile Chambod. Located between the limestone cliffs of Balvay and Jarbonnet, this body of water was born from the construction of the Allement dam.

Chambod Island is part of the ENS de la Haute vallée de l'Ain, labeled "ENS" by the Department of Ain in 2019. True natural and landscape jewels of the Department of Ain, the sites benefiting from the label ENS “Sensitive natural spaces” are managed in such a way as to preserve the biodiversity they host and arranged for opening to the public (except in exceptional cases due to the fragility of the environments).
