The 40 km of the lower river of Ain, from Poncin to Anthon constitute its last space of freedom. From Blyes to its confluence with the Rhône, follow the meanders and variations of the Ain to admire the diversity of environments, fauna and flora.

The Ain River describes wide meanders punctuated by pebble banks and lônes. The alluvial forest is natural and bordered by dry orchid lawns. Abundant wildlife nests on its wild shores and in the heart of its waters.

The Ain river was used by boatmen and sailors for the transport of wood from the Jura and fishing from the Middle Ages to the 1920s, the river is today a paradise for fishermen and nature lovers.

From Blyes, an interpretation trail lets you discover the natural phenomena of the river.

Pay attention to hunting periods from September to February.
During periods of high water in the river, some sections may be inaccessible because they are flooded. Beware of the sudden rise in water, due to dam releases.
