From Perouges to Bugey
Short section at the foot of the Bugey mountains. Pleasant ride on the Via Rhôna cycle path, from the pretty village of St-Sorlin to the impressive Sault-Brenaz dam. Corn fields and a river sparkling in the sun, perfect for a round trip with the family.
The via Rhôna continues at the Saut Brenaz dam towards Bugey Sud.
Continuing outside via rhôna for 2 km, the Sentier des Hommes forts in Villebois offers a pleasant family walking path.
Small detour recommended by the beautiful village of Saint-Sorlin-en-Bugey (less than 1 km from the start of the via): its stone facades, its medieval fresco, its church... Wine tasting cellar in the village .
Picnic area on arrival in Vertrieu, with a view of the castle opposite for a break.
To be combined with the bike path: from Marcilleux to Saint-Sorlin (10km), in one direction or the other.
