Perfect for a weekend getaway with motorcycle friends. Leaving early, the Dombes ponds offer a splendid spectacle at the first rays of the sun. You might well see a solitary heron or an exotic species, coming from the Parc des Oiseaux (Villar-les-Dombes).
A little further, the medieval city opens its arms. For a free visit, or a guided tour, reserved at the tourist office! A real time travel. Many restaurants welcome your well-deserved lunch break. Free motorcycle parking, under the church. Motorcycle boots are not very suitable for walking on cobblestones, especially in wet weather.
And since we won't be going home right away, head for Saint-Maurice-de-Gourdans (via Charnoz-sur-Ain) and the nearby Ain river. We take a quick dip, or a siesta, behind the Camping des Plages de l'Ain. Calm and serenity before returning home.
