Departure: Saint-Vulbas

Short passage between Proulieu and the Lagnieu roundabout in the hamlet and on the departmental road. From Loyettes to St-Vulbas, passage on the road. The Via Rhôna section is a provisional route.

Nearly 40 km to discover several historic sites between the Ain plain and Isère.

Departure to Marcilleux to observe the very pretty Romanesque chapel. Follow the towpath in a straight line, along the river, to the hamlet of Proulieu (8km). Take the D20 (caution) for about 1km to the Lagnieu roundabout (9km).

Head south, via Via Rhôna. Follow the marked route. A detour via the Grottes de la Balme is recommended. (open every day in summer). The archaeological site of Larina is a stopover allowing you to gain height. View of the Rhone.

Return via the Loyettes bridge and the D20 to Saint-Vulbas (crossing the road, be careful).
