From Perouges to Bugey
Pleasant path on the old towpath, on the banks of the Rhône. From the pretty chapel of Marcilleux, the walk takes place in a straight line, without any difficulty. Short version to the river stopover or by extending the fitness trail.
The view of the river, the rustle of the wind in the leaves, the coolness of the trees make it an ideal trail for a walk at the end of the day, with a stroller or a four-legged friend, or even for running.
About 4.5 km (one way) in a straight line from the chapel to the end of the fitness trail. For a slightly shorter version, from the chapel to the port road (3km). A break is recommended on the picnic tables at the level of the river stop, in the calm of the weeping willows, with a view of the waters of the Rhône.
By bike, from the chapel, following the towpath on the banks of the Rhône, it is possible to go to Saint-Sorlin (via the Lagnieu roundabout, about 20km). Possibility to then resume the cycling route of the Via Rhôna towards Geneva.
